1. Review the Filelist module for the proper location to place the uploaded images. Create a good file structure in the Filelist module, so that the images can be found later. Do not place all images in one folder. This can lead to performance problems later, as well as make it hareder to locate the correct image file.
2. Add file metadata as soon as the file is uploaded, so that it is automatically populated each time the image is used on the site. Provide a title with the name of the Photographer/Agency, alternative text for screen readers, etc.
3. Use Color space: RGB
4. For photos use .jpg format with best quality/lowest compression.
5. For graphic images with fewer colors use PNG format (ex: Logos).
6. Avoid GIF format!
7. Do not use CMYK format, it does not display on Internet Explorer!
8. Tips:
   1. Watch the file size of the images! If the image sizes are too large, this can slow the download and creation of the page.
   2. Use a good naming convention for your files and follow the Filelist naming convention.
   3. !!! Editors should upload at least the minimum upload resolution size and use the required aspect ratio!!!
   4. !!! Uploading smaller images or images not using the correct aspect ratio can produce blurry and/or distorted images!!!
   5. Smaller images will be generated automatically by TYPO3.
